MSBA Announces 11 Newly Certified Real Property Law Specialists 

On August 7, 2018 the Minnesota State Bar Association announced the certification of: Thomas Wentzell, Barna Guzy & Steffen Ltd; Timothy Prindiville, Prindiville Law PA; Kelly Springer, Willenbring Dahl Wocken & Zimmerman PLLC; Nancy Landmark, Commercial Partners Title LLC; Nora Crumpton, Anderson Law Offices PA; Lydia Lui, Vantage Law Group PLLC; Chad Novak, Alliant National Title Insurance Company; Molly Gherty, Felhaber Larson Fenlon & Vogt; Peter Diessner, Speeter & Johnson; Tyler Adams, Nilan Johnson Lewis PA; and Andrew Hultgren, Franz Hultgren Evenson PA as MSBA Board Certified Real Property Law Specialists.  This Certification program is administered by the MSBA and approved by the State Board of Legal Certification.

The certified specialist designation is earned by leading attorneys who have completed a rigorous approval process, including an examination in the specialty area, peer review, and documented experience. Certified attorneys have demonstrated superior knowledge, skill and integrity in their specific field and can use the designation of specialist to advertise their credentials. The MSBA has been accredited as an independent professional organization for certifying attorneys as Criminal Law Specialists, Real Property Law Specialists, Civil Trial Law Specialists and Labor and Employment Law Specialists. Frequently asked Questions about the exam


When is the exam? 8:30 am on Saturday, February 24, 2018. The deadline for applying is February 1, 2018. The Standards and an Initial Application can be found at Exam will be offered at the MSBA offices and in Duluth (if there is enough interest).


How long is the exam? 4 hours.


What will be on it? Five short answer essay question and fewer than 40 multiple choice questions.


Who grades the exams? Each essay will be graded against the model answers by a Certification Board member.


Do I need to be a member of the MSBA? No, membership in the MSBA is not required of certified specialists.


How many attorneys are MSBA Certified Real Property Law Specialists? Currently there are 341.
