High School Mock Trial

About the Program

The Minnesota High School Mock Trial Program is an exciting law-related education program that introduces students to the American legal system and provides a challenging opportunity for personal growth and achievement. Your students will exercise their critical thinking and teamwork skills, as well as the basic skills learned in the classroom.

The MSBA is committed to creating an inclusive environment in which every person can participate in the Mock Trial program. 2024 State Champions - Watertown-Mayer High School

Watertown-Mayer High School had one month to prepare a challenging case to argue at Nationals in Wilmington, Delaware. They competed in virtual scrimmages 5 times during April, and then had 2 in-person scrimmages in Wilmington. The team was made up of 2 seniors, 4 juniors, and 3 sophomores. During the actual National trials they beat Georgia, Utah, and Mississippi, and lost in a split ballot decision to North Carolina. That landed them in 11th place. Junior Ella Hunkins was rewarded with a Top Ten Witness award! All the students agreed it was a fantastic experience!
