of the Bankruptcy
Section will meet Tuesday, March 10, 2020
at 6 PM in the downstairs conference room at BLN Offices, located
at 2001 Killebrew Drive, Bloomington, MN 55425
Is it permissible for a Chapter
7 debtor’s attorney to enter into retainer agreements with clients to bifurcate
services in such a way that allows the attorney to be paid post-petition for
legal fees? This is an important issue being contested in a case pending in this
jurisdiction right
now. The Consumer
Subcommittee of the Bankruptcy Section will present a lively panel discussion on this, which will
thoroughly address the issue with an examination of how we got here,
and a review of the arguments both for, and against,
bifurcation of fees.
No
charge to attend. Dinner will be served, and CLE credit will be applied
for.
Pre-registration is not required but
