Allison Johnson is the owner and founder of Allison Johnson, P.A. She specializes in patent prosecution and opinion work, primarily in the fields of chemistry, scientific instruments, and mechanical products. She regularly advises clients regarding intellectual property issues. She has prepared numerous validity and infringement opinions, drafted patent applications, and conducted patent prosecution in various areas of the chemical, life sciences, and scientific instrument fields. She has extensive experience in appellate practice before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. She frequently prepares, and advises clients regarding, confidential nondisclosure, licensing, and non-compete agreements. After graduating from the honors chemistry program at Indiana University, Ms. Johnson worked as a scientist for the Drug Enforcement Administration, G.D. Searle and Northern Telecom. As a lawyer Ms. Johnson worked first in patent litigation at a nationwide litigation firm, and then in patent prosecution at a nationwide patent prosecution firm. Her training as an analytical chemist and close work with inventors in the fields of chemistry, life sciences and scientific instrumentation uniquely position her to understand inventions in these areas. Her experience in litigation has enabled her to view the drafting, prosecution and analysis of patents with a litigator’s eye.
