Governor Walz Appoints Kristi Stanislawski to Fill Tenth Judicial District Vacancy

[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the appointment of Kristi Stanislawski as District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District. Stanislawski will be replacing the Honorable Mary A. Yunker and will be chambered in Elk River in Sherburne County.

“It is my pleasure to appoint Kristi Stanislawski to the Sherburne County bench,” said Governor Walz. “She is an experienced litigator whose broad practice background and commitment to judicial equity and fairness will make her a great addition to the Tenth Judicial District.”

“Kristi Stanislawski’s extensive legal background and deep commitment to her community have prepared her well for this role, and I am confident she will make everyone who appears before her feel welcome and heard in her courtroom,” said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. “I applaud her appointment.”

Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District encompasses Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright counties.

Kristi Stanislawski is an attorney at Jovanovich, Dege & Athmann, PA. Her practice includes serving as the lead prosecutor for the cities of Cold Spring, Richmond, Kimball, and St. Stephen, as well as representing private clients in civil and family matters. Her community involvement includes serving on Central Minnesota Legal Service’s board of directors and volunteering with the Children’s Law Center and the Stearns/Benton County Pro Bono Legal Clinic. Stanislawski has served in various leadership roles with the Minnesota Women Lawyers Central Chapter and the Seventh District chapter of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
