Gov. Walz Appoints Thomas Christenson to Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals

[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the appointment of Thomas Christenson to serve as a Judge on Minnesota’s Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals. Mr. Christenson will be replacing the Honorable Gary M. Hall who retired earlier this year, and he will serve a six-year term expiring on January 3, 2028.

“I am honored to appoint Thomas Christenson to the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals,” said Governor Walz. “Mr. Christenson has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area of workers’ compensation, and I am confident that he will be a tremendous asset to this Court and the people of Minnesota.”

“Mr. Christenson’s long history of representing clients on all sides of workers’ compensation matters makes him uniquely qualified to take on this important role,” said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. “I am excited to see him excel in this new position.”

The Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals (WCCA) is an independent agency in Minnesota’s executive branch. The WCCA reviews workers’ compensation cases decided by the Office of Administrative Hearings and the Workers’ Compensation Division at the Department of Labor and Industry.
