MSBA Annual Convention underway

by Joe Kaczrowski | Jun 12, 2015

The MSBA Annual Convention (formerly Nine Days in June) began yesterday in Lakeville and continues today in Brainerd. Next week the roadshow heads to Duluth, St. Cloud and Blaine, and then wraps up the following week with Rochester, Mankato and Minneapolis.

As with years past, the convention offers a day of CLE content and the opportunity to network with your colleagues. This year's convention, however, was organized by the MSBA's sister organization, Minnesota CLE. This year's convention has also added a social hour/reception honoring the local bench to the agenda at the first seven sessions. At the opening session in Lakeville yesterday, many of the judges attended the reception, and it was a great opportunity for attendees to socialize and get to know the local judicial officers.

Several MSBA sections are sponsors of the convention, which allows section members to attend at an even more discounted rate. For example, Elder Law, Business, and Corporate Counsel section members can attend for only $10.

The MSBA's Esquire 36 Committee and the local law schools also are offering employer-friendly interviews at MSBA Convention sessions throughout the state.

In addition to CLE programming and networking with your colleagues, you can talk to MSBA staff and officers like current president Richard Kyle at the MSBA Convention events throughout the state. Richard will be tweeting along the way as well.

In conjunction with the MSBA Annual Convention (and dues season), the MSBA is asking members to share why they are a part of the MSBA. Check out some of the responses to #WhyMSBA on Twitter.
