Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
What diversity, equity and inclusion goals did the Section include in the 2021-2022 work plan, how did you approach these goals, and what was the result?

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion continues to be a standing item on the meeting agendas. Nick Torres who served as the councils DEI representative, attended MSBA DEI trainings and shared helpful tips at council meetings.

The council discussed DEI when choosing CLE presenters and topics, and round table topics with the goal of including a wide variety of constituents.

The Solo Small Firm Summit had two different tracks. One geared towards law students, and new lawyers. The other track for attorneys trying to improve or expand their solo/small practice.

Other Accomplishments

At the end of June, the section hosted an in person social event, attendees enjoyed chatting and playing bocce ball at Pinstripes.

Additionally, something new this year were virtual social events which provided members with opportunities to network on topics relevant to solo small attorneys.
