Construction Law Section



Who We Are | Our Mission

The Construction Law Section is an engaged and active Section of the MSBA. With over 300 members, the Section serves its members and the legal community to improve the practice of construction law in Minnesota, provide opportunities for continuing education in this broad practice area, and liaison with other sections of the MSBA and other groups in the construction arena to address issues that concern the construction industry.


Section Benefits and Activities

Join the Construction Law Section and as a member you will:

  • Keep up with the latest developments in construction law;
  • Develop insights into legislative proposals that affect your practice through the Section's legislative committee;
  • Attend 9+ low-cost CLE programs per year. Section members receive discounted access on all CLE programming and Section events. For an annual membership fee of $30, Section members have access to all Construction Section programs free or at a reduced rate for each standard 1 hour CLE program, compared to $15 for MSBA members not in the Construction Section and $30 for non-MSBA members;
  • Engage in community service in a variety of ways. 
  • Network with construction law colleagues at CLEs, socials, and occasional venue tours such as Allianz Field and the North Loop Green.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

The Construction Law Section is committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. The Construction Law Section understands the importance of diversity and inclusion in regard to increasing collective awareness, increasing membership and influence, and improving the Section’s long-term viability. As of November 2020, the Construction Law Section approved a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan to be in effect for three years. Click here to view the plan.
