Join us for the first installment of New Lawyers
Section CLE-a-thon programming! This series provides
a platform for new lawyers to hone their presentation skills and showcase
their expertise in their practice area or legal topic. Attendees will gain
insights into emerging practice areas and benefit from knowledge-sharing.
CLE-a-thon programming fosters professional development, confidence in
public speaking, and networking among legal professionals.
Lunch provided for in-person attendees.

David will
talk about his experience as a U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General
(lawyer) from training to army legal education to the roles he's held. He will
also summarize the four core competencies of an Army lawyer.

The Animal Welfare Act has certain loopholes
through which roadside zoos, such as those pictured in Netflix’s Tiger King,
operate. Maya will discuss these loopholes and suggest an avenue for fixing

Overview of Minnesota's new earned sick and safe time
law.

Anna will
discuss the differences of several different protection orders that are offered
in Minnesota. This presentation will aim to help lawyers counsel their clients
through which protection order best suits their situation and how these types of
orders interact with each other. The presentation will cover Orders for
Protection, Harassment Restraining Orders, Domestic Abuse No Contact Orders, and
the new Emergency Risk Protection Orders.Cost:
