Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, known by the
acronym PFAS and better known by the moniker "forever chemicals," are the focus
of rapidly evolving regulatory regimes at the U.S. federal and state
level. This increased attention in turn is driving new theories of
liability against manufacturers whose products contain PFAS. Companies
must prepare themselves to respond to federal and state reporting and labeling
requirements regarding PFAS in their products and mitigate their risk of
litigation exposure.
This presentation will offer a primer on the current
science of PFAS; survey the current and anticipated regulatory
and litigation landscape concerning these chemicals; and advise on proactive
steps your company or clients can make to address the
presence of PFAS in your products.
