After much politics and debate, there is a new law
legalizing marijuana. Before musing on potential impacts, it
is important to first review its actual
contents comprehensively, as it relates to criminal law and its practitioners.
Given the many cross-topics in this area of law, non-criminal lawyers
would also gain value from this event.
We are fortunate this review will be presented by the nonpartisan legislative
staff most closely involved in its drafting, amendments, and passage. At the
moment, Minnesota House Research Analyst, Ben Johnson, is the foremost expert on
Minnesota’s new cannabis law. He will be joined by Laura Paynter and Nolan
Hudalla from the Office of the Minnesota Senate Counsel.
This 2-hour, in-person and video CLE will provide a cold, rational, rundown
of the law’s entire contents in relation to criminal law practice. Attendees
will have the rare opportunity to ask practical questions of the staff most
knowledgeable of the new law’s contents.
*For efficient Q&A, in-person attendance is suggested.
