Last year, the Minnesota Supreme Court
amended the court rules to curb the improper filing of nonpublic documents in
district court files. Among other things, the amendments require the use
of new forms and procedures to file "restricted identifiers" and other
non-public information. The amendments provide some new procedures for
court administration to reject improperly filed documents. In addition,
the Court introduced the new MCRO system for expanded access to district court
filings. More changes to the MCRO system will be made in 2022. Our
speaker will be Patrick Busch from the Legal Counsel Division of the State Court
Administrator's Office. Patrick will go over the adopted and upcoming
changes and let us know how to comply with the amended rules and use MCRO
better.
