Today’s legal researcher has access to new analytics and
artificially-intelligent tools. We’ll review some of the basics in this new
environment. Do attorneys still need to know basic Boolean? (Hint: Yes! But,
we’ll review where it’s best to use Boolean and basic principles you may apply
on any system). We’ll also take a look at new tools from Casetext’s CARA,
Westlaw, Fastcase, and more.

Staff Attorney where he performed legal research, analyzed feedback, and
provided trainings. Mike now serves the online services team at the Minnesota
State Bar Association.
