Program
Description:
Almost all lawyers in
private practice have to handle money entrusted to them by their clients.
Indeed, you generally want to have clients entrust their money to you, instead
of having to wait for a bill to be paid. But then you must be able to
account to the client for the money entrusted to you in advance. This
class will show how you can keep your trust accounts as required by the rules,
specifically using QuickBooks Desktop and Online, the most popular general
accounting program and service short of a full legal-specific
practice-management system. It will relate the software methods shown to
the specific requirements of Minnesota's rules.
Presenter:
Michael Trittipo,
Attorney Editor | Minnesota State
Bar Association
Michael is an attorney editor with the MSBA. He earned his J.D. with
honors in 1981, and practiced law for several years. Since 2000, he has
written several guides telling lawyers how they can safely use various software
programs to keep their clients’ trust account books and records in compliance
with Minnesota’s rules.
