will meet at 11:30 am, followed by lunch and the CLE at
noon.
Cyber security is fast
becoming an affirmative responsibility for organizations large and small. This
presentation will describe how Congress, the executive branch, and the electric industry develop,
promulgate and enforce mandatory cyber security standards to protect the North
American electric grid from cyber threats.
Presenter:
Michael Remington is an information technology leader at
Xcel Energy, Inc. His team manages several IT processes related to system
reliability, including change, problem and configuration management. Michael
owns or influences several corporate federal regulatory compliance controls, and
is experienced in process documentation, evidence gathering, audit preparation,
and responses
to
audit findings.
Michael is an attorney licensed to practice law in
Minnesota, holds a JD, magna cum laude, from Hamline University School of Law,
and a BA in political science from the University of Minnesota.
