Event Description

Lunch will be provided. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 am. The program will begin at 12 noon.

Increased tariffs on imports into the United States have heightened the need to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs rules and regulations.  The Trump administration is using sections 232 and 301 to increase the tariff rate on a wide variety of imports into the United States.  This CLE will summarize the basics of ensuring accurate declaration of harmonized tariff schedule classifications, country-of-origin and valuation of imported merchandise, as well as provide insight into common issues facing U.S. importers relating to the new import duties.  In addition, the CLE will provide an overview of exclusions from newly-implemented tariffs and other strategies to cope with higher U.S. tariffs.
