F. Clayton Tyler has more than 40 years of success working in criminal law and is deeply dedicated to defending individuals accused of serious crimes. Mr. Tyler has handled hundreds of cases ranging in severity from murder to misdemeanor theft. He handles cases involving search and seizure, domestic assault, DUIs, theft, white-collar, and other criminal charges. Providing defense for assault, drugs, and weapons charges are his specialty. A diligent defender of clients' rights, Mr. Tyler has an outstanding record of achieving results for those he represents. He has the rare honor of winning two federal drug cases within six months. Less than one percent of all the attorneys in Minnesota can claim that record.
Mr. Tyler has represented professional athletes, college students, and a broad range of clients from diverse communities. He is licensed in Federal, State, and Tribal Court. He is a Board-Certified Criminal Law Specialist, an honor earned by less than three percent of Minnesota attorneys. Mr. Tyler has earned wide respect for his professionalism, tenacity, proven record, and the “Straight talk and Honest Answers” he brings to his work.
Born and raised in the North Minneapolis community, Mr. Tyler is a lifelong resident of Minneapolis and is dedicated to defending the city’s residents. Among his many professional associations, he has served as Chair of Minneapolis Public Housing and as a member of the University of Minnesota's Diversity Committee. He has also served as Chair of the Minneapolis Urban League Board and founded ForeUs, formerly known as Minnesota Minority Junior Golf Association, a caddy program serving inner-city youth.
