Mentoring in the Virtual World and Beyond

Event Description

Hear from nationally-renowned Ida Abbott on mentoring when hallway chats and in-person coffees are difficult, if not impossible.   Mentoring can be an effective way to create a more inclusive culture and can produce important benefits for participants, employers, and the legal profession.  Ida has worked on improving mentoring relationships for over 25 years.  She will discuss why mentoring is especially important  in today’s socially-distanced environment, how to be the best mentor, and how to get the most out of a mentoring relationship.   Bring your questions to this webinar for the question-and-answer session.

Ida O. Abbott, President of Ida Abbott Consulting, promotes and supports career development and advancement from the beginning of a lawyer’s career through retirement. Her first book, The Lawyer’s Guide to Mentoring, remains the seminal book in its field, and her latest book, Retirement by Design, was named one of the Wall Street Journal’s best books on retirement of 2020. Ida has long been a leader in the field of talent management, particularly mentoring, leadership, and sponsorship. She was a co-founder of the Hastings Leadership Academy for Women and the Professional Development Consortium, is Vice Chair of the National Legal Mentoring Consortium, and is an elected Fellow of both the American Bar Foundation and the College of Law Practice Management. More information about Ida and her work can be found at .
