This CLE presentation is entirely focused on educating lawyers about the barriers, including attorney bias and specific laws, that people of color face when they are a part of the legal system. This presentation will also cover the Minnesota Supreme Court Race Bias Task Force Report, spending time on why it was necessary and how it has been implemented to date. In discussing the specific laws that have heavily impacted race over time in addition to the Race Bias Task Force report, the presentation will be able to provide strategies that help attorneys overcome their own bias as well as the bias that plays out in the legal system.
