This course will focus on the legal principles, doctrines,
causes of action and rights and remedies impacting purchase agreements and
option contracts. Particular attention will be given to the manner in which
basic contract law applies to real estate, including enforceability of the
contract, statute of frauds, as well as an analysis of common purchase agreement
provisions. We will also review relevant statutes such as implied warranties,
contract cancellation and mandatory disclosures. This course is a nice review
for attorneys preparing for the Real Property Law Specialist Certification
Examination scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2020. This presentation is also a
good review for any attorney practicing in this area.
