Party-appointed arbitrators have traditionally been
partisans for the party that selects them. This presumption of bias
creates practical and ethical issues for both arbitrators and the parties.
This presentation will explore how the peculiarities and challenges of
party-appointed arbitrators (both neutrals and non-neutrals) should be addressed
in the arbitration agreement and managed before and during the
hearing.
