Deadline to Register: January 4,
2016
In
this one-hour session, Michael Sampson, a member of the Uniform Trust Code
drafting committee and Co-Chair of the Legislation Committee of the Probate
& Trust Law Section, will discuss four significant new provisions of the
Minnesota Trust Code: Silent Trusts, Directed Trusts, Decanting, and
Non-Judicial Settlement Agreements. The focus will be on how these provisions will affect our
approach to drafting new documents and whether, and how, they can
be implemented into existing trust arrangements. Michael will discuss the statutory provisions
and will provide examples of how the provisions might work in
practice.
