Webinar:

This presentation will review the historical context of the Treatment Court and its role in combating the surge in drug use over the last decades. We will also discuss the multidisciplinary team's roles in the treatment court frameworks. Precisely, much focus will be placed on the roles of social workers and the challenges they face as they advocate for more person-centered treatment against legal sanctions that are often placed on relapse and lapse by participants. Therefore, this presentation will; 1. review the historical context of drug court. 2. explain social workers/clinician's role in the treatment court. 3. explain the sharp differences between cooperation, coordination, and collaboration and their importance in the treatment court system.
