Benefits and Activities

With over 350 members, the ADR Section is one of the largest and most active sections of the MSBA.

Benefits to ADR Section members:

  • Attend informative monthly noon hour CLE’s (9 hours of CLE per year free to ADR Section members) 
  • Network at ADR section monthly meetings for both new and experienced ADR professionals
  • Join ADR-Talk, a listserv for discussions about ADR-related topics
  • Have a state-wide impact through the ADR Section Grant Program, which awards up to $5,000 to nonprofit Minnesota organizations.  Click here for the Grant Application.
  • Plan to bring your lunch and join us at noon on the second Tuesday of each month, September through May, at the MSBA Offices (ADR CLEs immediately follow the Section meetings).

Mission Statement

To advance and promote the field of conflict management and dispute resolution, and to improve the practice, elevate the standards, and educate practitioners, the bench and the public regarding ADR in Minnesota.


Continue programming for monthly lunch meetings; establish relationships with other MSBA sections whose members use ADR services; maintain and promote a web directory of section members; participate actively in the ADR Institute; provide education to other members of the MSBA and the public regarding the benefits of using ADR; provide commentary and collaborate with other groups on legislative and ethical issues; publicize and educate regarding key developments and opportunities in ADR.

Section-Only Membership Category

You don’t have to be an attorney to join this section!  A member of the public who is not eligible for MSBA membership and who works in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolutuion is welcome to join the section as a section-only member.  For more information, click on Membership located under the About MSBA tab.
