This program is sponsored by the MSBA International
Business Law Section.
The United States remains
one of the most attractive markets for foreign direct investment in the world.
At the same time, a foreign person who wishes to invest in a U.S.
business has to navigate through an intricate web of state entity and business
laws and comply with the most complicated tax system in the world.
This CLE intends to provide U.S.
business lawyers with a general understanding of the most important business and
tax considerations that are relevant in common situations involving foreign
clients who invest in U.S. businesses. The goal of the CLE is to integrate these
considerations into one easy-to-follow analytical framework that a business
lawyer can use to identify most common traps and potential opportunities when
advising foreign clients.
Speakers:.
Mindas Juska, Esq.: the
principal attorney with Juska Law, LLC - a Minneapolis, MN boutique law practice
providing the US Business Law and Employment Law services to US domestic and
inbound foreign companies, and consulting US companies doing business in Europe
(www.juskalaw.com).
Eugene Sherayzen, Esq.: the
founder and owner of Sherayzen Law Office, Ltd. (http://sherayzenlaw.com) - a law firm that
specializes in U.S. international tax compliance for U.S. tax residents and
foreign persons.
