Event Description
Deadline to Register: December 13, 2016
Please join us for an illuminating panel discussion among four
Hennepin County judges regarding Specialty/Treatment
Courts. The Fourth Judicial District has spearheaded efforts in
Minnesota designed to provide non-traditional approaches aimed at addressing underlying issues
confronted
by
certain defendants, with a goal of providing sustained
and reduced recidivism. These non-traditional courts focus on particular types of cases or violations and have specific calendars. These specialty/treatment courts – which include
Mental Health, Veterans’, DWI, Domestic Violence, Drug, GIFT and HOMES Courts - are operated in collaboration with justice and community partners. Questions are welcomed and encouraged.
