"Issue Spotting in Family Immigration Law: Birth, Marriage, and Death"

Our luncheon panel will examine the topics of birth & citizenship (review of the various mechanisms by which a child may obtain US citizenship), marriage & permanent residence (review of different pathways to permanent residence for the spouse of a US citizen or permanent resident), and the impact of the petitioner's death on the relative petition process (Widow Provision). A nice refresher course for the experienced attorney and an essential primer for the younger attorney seeking a framework for addressing family immigration issues with existing or prospective clients.

Panelists:

Debra Schneider, Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. (Birth)

Malinda Schmiechen, Schmiechen Immigration Law, LLC (Marriage)

Steven C. Thal, Steven C. Thal, P.A. (Death)
