The Environmental, Natural Resources and Energy Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association seeks well-crafted, insightful, diligently researched articles on topics within the section's areas of interest. All articles submitted will be considered for publication on the section's website, and the authors of best articles, as selected by the section's governing council, will receive honoraria: $250 for the article judged best; $100 each for the articles judged second and third best. All three top authors will be recognized at the annual Law Student Reception in October 2015.
Articles must total no more than 5,000 words (including footnotes) and must not have been previously published. Articles derived from papers submitted for academic credit will be accepted for consideration. Michael Laird was the 2015 recipient of the ENRE sponsored clerkship grant. He is entering his third year at the University of Minnesota School of Law. The grant allowed Michael to work with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's Office of General Counsel providing legal advice and support for the Agency relating to a wide variety of environmental issues.
