The Office of Administrative Hearings has jurisdiction to adjudicate all municipal boundary adjustment matters in Minnesota. The Municipal Boundary Adjustment Unit processes and adjudicates over 100 cases each year, directly impacting communities throughout the state. This program will explain how the Municipal Boundary Adjustment Unit operates, provide information on the types of cases the unit sees and the governing legal standards for various boundary adjustments, and highlight recent appellate decisions in this area of law.
