Event Description

Online Registration is now closed. To register, please email Yajaira Lansiquot at ylansiquot@mnbars.org.

Remote Only Event

In this training, we aim to raise your awareness of neurodiversity and provide language and context to neurodivergent experiences. Including discussions about the difference between “neurodiverse” and “neurodivergent,” the Social Models of Disability vs. the Medical Model of Disability, and a brief overview of some of the traits you may see in neurodivergent individuals. After we set you up with a common frame of reference, we will shift to discussing how neurodivergencies within mediation participants may impact mediations and some accommodations that may be helpful. Finally, we will finish with a discussion about neurodivergencies within mediators and how recruiting more people with neurodivergencies to become Qualified Neutrals can play a role in the ongoing diversity, equity, and inclusion discussions surrounding conflict resolution.
