Presentation:

In this lively panel discussion, presenters will talk candidly about their experiences both as attorneys and as mediators working to resolve legal disputes alleging discrimination on the bases of race, gender, economic status, creed, color, religion, national origin, disability, age or sexual orientation in employment, education, housing, and public service and accommodation settings.  Panelists will address how they have learned to challenge their own biases through their work with parties in discrimination cases through the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, while maintaining the ethical standards of their mediation practices – specifically neutrality and confidentiality.

This session addresses diversity, equity, inclusion by directly educating attorneys and attendees in identifying and eliminating from the legal profession and from the practice of law biases against persons because of race, gender, economic status, creed, color, religion, national origin, disability, age or sexual orientation.
