Live Webinar Description:
Following a brief annual elections
of
the MVA Section, the first hour includes the recent up-to-date legislation, specifically on issues
related to and affecting servicemembers and their families.
The second hour of the program will be an overview of the history and
laws on the use of military personnel in domestic operations. The briefing will
focus on the civil disturbances across the country and in the state of Minnesota
this past year, with an examination of the federal and state authorities to use
military personnel and the role they play. The briefing will also focus on the
rights of service members called to duty under both federal and state
activations, to include the Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act and the state law
equivalent (M.S. 190.055).
