Webinar Program
Description:
COVID-19, Health Inequity and Health
Disparities have been hot topics in 2020. We learned that several generations of
inadequate health care in communities of color have led to co-morbidities (high
blood pressure, asthma, obesity, diabetes, etc.) and a disproportionate impact
of COVID-19 in these communities. Black and Latino communities have an infection
rate of 3 times that of white communities which in turn has led to greater
negative health and economic impacts in those communities. Health Inequities in
communities of color are not new and unfortunately have not been adequately
addressed. This workshop highlights some of those inequities and provides
guidance on how to address them through #EquityActions. Come learn about how you
can use the learnings of 2020 to shape your personal vision to address Health
Equity. The Journey Towards #EquityActions must be realized and all eyes are on
you to see what you are willing to do.
