Trainer and mediator Andre Koen will address the
importance of core cultural competencies for anyone promoting conflict
resolution. These competencies include: recognizing and meeting
specific cultural needs for safety, significance and belonging, unveiling and
addressing particular cultural challenges and taboos, and knowing how to trump
the “race card” argument. Examples will be given relating to
African-American, Native-American, Somali and Hmong cultures, among others.
Andre Koen is an energetic presenter, a powerful communicator, and a dynamic
teacher. Andre integrates his abilities as an improvisational comedian,
large group facilitator, keynote speaker and classroom teacher to captivate and
educate his audience.
