Program Description:

Navigating the Ethical Landscape: Supervisory Practices in Law Firms" will be a Panel presentation featuring insight from local general counsel and ethics counsel focused on lawyer supervisory duties, which is a critical yet often overlooked element of legal practice. Learn how the ethics rules define responsibilities for supervision and identify whom lawyers supervise, while also exploring what qualifies as reasonable supervision. Learn about “must have” policies and training that all law firms should be implementing and how these policies help minimize risks like malpractice and ethical consequences. Finally, how lawyers practice law together is changing, which in turn impacts supervisory duties. Learn about ethical best practices for supervision in hybrid and remote workplaces and how the rise of Generative AI has created new challenges for law firms to supervise and train employees.
