Remote Event

Join us for the second installment of New Lawyers Section CLE-a-thon programming! This series provides a platform for new lawyers to hone their presentation skills and showcase their expertise in their practice area or legal topic. Attendees will gain insights into emerging practice areas and benefit from knowledge-sharing. CLE-a-thon programming fosters professional development, confidence in public speaking, and networking among legal professionals.

Presenters

Nick DeMaris, Attorney, Wanta Thome PLC
Nick will discuss recent changes to Minnesota law regarding employment protections for pregnant employees and new parents. This includes protections for employees who are pumping in the workplace and expanded access to pregnancy accommodations and family leave.

Monica Pelkey, Associate Attorney, Monroe Moxness Berg PA
This presentation will provide the basics of retail lease definitions, provisions, and more. Gain valuable insights on important issues and concepts to enhance your understanding of retail leasing.

Ignacio Sanz Perez, Attorney, Steven C. Thal, P.A. 
We will will discuss employment visa options for students on F-1 visas. We will review several visa alternatives for students who are about to complete their studies or are looking forward to extend their stay in the United States. 

Chris Wehr, Attorney, Heacox Hartman Koshmrl Cosgriff Johnson Lane & Feenstra, P.A.
Chris will provide introduction into practicing workers' compensation in Minnesota for the junior lawyer, by a "junior" lawyer. This presentation will aim to introduce newer attorneys to what practicing workers' compensation in Minnesota is like, the types of issues and cases they can expect to see, and ways to succeed in your first years of practice.
