Associate Attorney Litigation


Kennedy & Graven, Chartered is a 30+ attorney law firm with a focus on providing general and special counsel to public entities in Minnesota and the region. We are seeking an Associate to practice with the litigation team, which primarily represents public entities such as counties, cities, townships, school districts in the defense of matters. Candidate will be primarily focused in the handling of matters involving employment, civil rights (including first amendment, search and seizure and discrimination), and torts, but may work in all areas of litigation which includes real estate, code enforcement, land use, eminent domain, rights of way, utilities, and construction.

Ÿ Licensed to practice and drive in Minnesota
Ÿ A long–term career interest in local government law and the provision of services to public entities

Preferred, but not required:
Ÿ Prior insurance defense experience or other heavy litigation experience of at least three years
Ÿ Prior experience handling multi-party litigation, including collective and class actions
Ÿ Judicial clerkship with state or federal trial and appellate courts
Ÿ Licensed to practice in Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota or North Dakota
