Did you know there is more to practicelaw than just forms?  practicelaw is designed to be a repository of resources intended to help your practice.  Similarly, the MSBA’s practiceblawg is a blog for the Association to share with you how the MSBA can help you improve your efficiency and grow your practice.  The MSBA offers members a number of products and services and is always looking for ways to better serve its members and provide greater value.

MSBA at the Family Law Institute

by Joe Kaczrowski | Mar 24, 2015

Last Friday mndocs completed the long-anticipated move to the cloud.  Current subscribers can now use mndocs on HotDocs Market for free through May 31, 2015.  All MSBA members can subscribe to the new mndocs at the member preferred price of $175 annually through HotDocs Market.  The new mndocs includes the same content as the old desktop version, but also will soon feature hundreds of new forms in practice areas including family law, adoption, guardianship and conservatorship, and business law.  For more information on mndocs and HotDocs Market, visit

Those members who attended the Family Law Institute in St. Paul over the last couple of days were able to stop by the MSBA booth for a sneak peek at the new mndocs on HotDocs Market.

Thanks to Jonathan Hoy from HotDocs for flying in to help us launch mndocs this week (although Jonathan, feel free to leave the snow behind next time you fly in).  We got a lot of great feedback from members and hopefully answered a number of questions.  Some of these answers have been incorporated into the mndocs FAQ page.  If you have any thoughts or suggestions (or complaints) feel free to send us an email at

Along with his time at the Family Law Institute, Jonathan was kind enough to present a CLE through the Practice Management section on what document automation is and how it can help lawyers increase their productivity.  A recording of this presentation will be available shortly on the MSBA's mndocs pages and hosted through the new MSBA YouTube channel.  The new YouTube channel will also include recordings of upcoming webinars by HotDocs demonstrating the new functionality available to members through the new mndocs in HotDocs Market; a schedule of these webinars can be found on  It will also feature posts from the new 'video FAQ' series featuring MSBA members in the new MN Find a Lawyer directory answering common questions they face in their practice areas.

The MSBA relies on member volunteers to help develop content for mndocs and practicelaw; if you have suggestions for updates or new content, or would like to get involved in the process, please email us at
