RCBA Recognizes Larry McDonough with 2022 Pro Bono Award

The Ramsey County Bar Association (RCBA) is proud to announce Lawrence (Larry) McDonough as the recipient of its 2022 Pro Bono Award. The award will be presented on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the association’s Bench & Bar Benefit. Proceeds from this event support the Ramsey County Bar Foundation.

McDonough is a Senior Fellow at the National Housing Law Project and a consultant on housing law. During his career, McDonough estimates that has had nearly 10,000 low-income clients and has handled hundreds of trials, motion hearings, appellate, and federal cases. RCBA recognizes McDonough for not only a career dedicated to justice for low-income Minnesotans, but for his leadership during the pandemic. As housing laws changed week-by-week and month-by-month, he led the charge to be sure that the legal community was informed and educated. His advocacy for clients and for fellow attorneys to be involved through pro bono has increased the number of attorneys helping low-income clients and increased the quality of that representation. McDonough has been on the forefront of advocating for change at a systemic level, lobbying and advocating on housing issues. We are a more just community because of his commitment and contributions.
