This CLE will address several ways federal practitioners
can ensure they are putting their best foot forward when they show up for a
pretrial scheduling conference, a civil motion hearing, or a settlement
conference. Magistrate Judge David T. Schultz and his judicial law clerks will
present on a variety of topics. The topics will include best practices for
settlement discussion preparation, effective briefing strategies, rules
regarding sealed filings, and ways to make the most of your meet and confer
process. The right preparation, and awareness of important rules, will help you
advance your case and serve your client.
Lunch will be
provided. Registration and lunch begin at 11:45
a.m.
