The blended family is becoming the norm, yet estate planners are having trouble keeping up with the times.  The traditional estate plan for the nuclear family almost certainly doesn’t work, so why are so many estate planners still using it?  This presentation will give practical tools for creating an effective estate plan for the blended family that – above all – appropriately manages expectations so that families can avoid the litigation route after the testator is gone.

Presenter:
Courtney  R. Sebo Savica | Wendland Utz, Ltd.
Courtney Sebo Savica is a Principal Attorney with Wendland & Utz, Ltd., in Rochester, Minnesota.  She practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, estate litigation, and general civil litigation.  She loves working with blended families on creating estate plans that work.  Courtney is a 2010 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law.  Courtney was previously with Excelsior Law Firm as a solo practitioner, Meagher & Geer, Ratwik Roszak & Maloney, and the Minnesota Court of Appeals as a Judicial Law Clerk to Judge Gordon Shumaker and Judge Larry Stauber
