Annual Legislative Update and Construction Connection to Community Presentation

During the first half of this program the Construction Law Section will present its annual review of legislation passed last session affecting the development, design, and construction industry and a discussion of likely upcoming industry and Section legislative proposals. The second half of the program will feature a presentation on Construction Connection to Community (CCC). CCC is an initiative of Makee Company and Consortium MN, in partnership with Associated General Contractors of Minnesota.

Construction in Indian Country | Labor and Employment Issues

Cyber Threats to the Construction Industry

This year's annual Construction Law Mini-Symposium will focus on identifying and understanding cyber threats to the construction industry as well as responses to those threats. We will discuss what to tell your clients if they believe they have been victim to a cyber security threat or data breach. The panelists will also discuss insurance, contracts, website security, and what to do before a breach. We hope you leave with a better understanding of cyber threats to the construction industry and what you should be doing to stay on top of it.

Inside the Black Box - Survey Results Revealing the Preferences and Practices of Construction Arbitrators

1.0 Standard CLE credit

The presenter conducted a survey of construction arbitrators across the nation and received approximately 230 replies. The survey responses reveal the practices of construction arbitrators in allowing discovery and dispositive motions and conducting hearings. The respondents also described what they thought were persuasive and unpersuasive advocacy techniques.
