Event Description
An HCBA Signature Program: Provided at no charge for HCBA
members.
Many lawyers would like to participate in constructive
police reform, but very few have any direct influence on police department
policies. Brady is one way for the entire criminal bar to have an
impact on police reform. This CLE will provide a brief overview of
Brady requirements under the law, including the requirements under the
rules of professional responsibility for lawyers and judges as well as comparing
and contrasting Brady & general court rules of evidence and
criminal procedure. The presenters will provide details on how
rigorous Brady practice will have a positive influence on
policing and public safety by providing constructive suggestions for city
leaders, prosecutors, defense attorneys and judges.
