Event Description
Good drafting practices focusing on clarity, brevity, and keep the overall best
interests of the client in mind. The lawyer must be a good business partner with
the client to get the deal done while still
protecting the overall best interests of the client. This CLE will
cover tips and traps, from the view of in-house counsel, in drafting, executing, docketing, managing,
and enforcing contracts.
Don will provide tested and proven
practical advice in managing a wide range of corporate contracts. He will
discuss the inherent tensions between our "zealous advocacy" requirements and
the business reality need to "grease the skids" to get the job done. He will
also address best practices for letters of intent, non-disclosure agreements,
boilerplate, dispute resolution, amendments, exhibits, and best practices
vis-a-vis contract filing, docketing, renewals, termination, and notices. All
lawyers who draft, negotiate, interpret, and enforce contracts will benefit from
the material in this one hour CLE.
