The Honorable Referee Melissa J. Houghtaling will provide her observations
on the recent impact of COVID-19 to practice in the Hennepin County Housing
Court. Referee Houghtaling will advise practitioners on the Court’s current
efforts to assist all stakeholders with the unprecedented effects of the global
pandemic on housing court practice. Attendees will learn about the present state
of proceedings in housing court; plus receive information about possible future
developments as the worldwide pandemic continues and economic conditions remain
volatile for business and residential property owners and their tenants.
All participants will also hear the Bench’s perspective on selected recent case
law developments and their practical impact on housing court matters.
