June Annual Election and CLE ProgramThere will be a brief Section Election Meeting taking place at 12 noon, followed immediately by the featured program. This session is REMOTE-ONLY participation through live webcast via Zoom. Attendees will have the option to view online and/or dial-in.

Live Webinar:

Abdominal pain, shortness of breath, nausea, lightheadedness.  In a woman, these are symptoms of heart attack.  While heart disease is the most common cause of death among men and women in the United States, women tend not to suffer the more familiar symptom of crushing chest pain experienced by men, and thus a life-altering heart attack could be overlooked by a female patient or her healthcare provider.  This is but one example of disparities in health that, across the life sciences and healthcare industries, can cumulatively impede women’s access to quality and affordable healthcare and put women at risk of misdiagnosis and ineffective treatment.

Health equity is achieved when patients are not disadvantaged from attaining their full health potential by racial, gender, economic, or other socially determined circumstances.  Lawyers and the law play a crucial role in supporting health equity for women.  This CLE partners with in-house counsel from across the health industry to discuss the ways in which corporate practice, regulations, and litigation impact women’s health equity.
