Event Description

Online registration is now closed.
If you would still like to join, email kerbach@mnbars.org by 8:30 am on December 7.

The MSBA Employee Benefits Section invites you to a roundtable discussion of recent developments in Employee Benefits focusing on Mental Health Parity, Surprise Billing and Transparency Rules. Please bring your questions and stories about what you’ve encountered and how these issues are impacting your work.

  • NQTL Assessments - what is the DOL really looking for?
    • Is it the self-funded plan or the TPA's responsibility to complete an assessment?
  • What are Surprise Billing Requirements?
  • What should employers be focusing on for action plans?
    • Notice obligations
    • Additional costs if insurers and TPAs will be handling
    • Will there be new processes and will they include employer choice?

The intent of this analysis is to provide you with general information regarding the status of, and/or potential concerns related to, your current employee benefits issue. It does not necessarily fully address all your specific issues.  It should not be construed as, nor is it intended to provide, legal advice. Questions regarding specific issues should be addressed by the client's general counsel or an attorney who specializes in this practice area.
