Description:
A new chapter, Chapter 28, Animal
Cruelty, has been written for the 2021 Minnesota Judges Criminal Benchbook. This
chapter covers a range of topics pertaining to animal cruelty law in Minnesota,
including Minnesota Statutes Chapter 343 (Prevention of Cruelty to Animals),
animal seizure and disposition, pre-trial issues, sentencing issues, and
judicial alerts. Chapter also includes legal precedent, comments, and practice
tips. The speakers, who wrote this chapter, will present an overview of these
topics.
