Legal Business as Usual is our twice a month legal news webcast. We log in as early as
7:30 and the 'formal' interview begins at 8 am. We typically wrap at 8:45.
The MSBA Access to Justice Committee is dedicated to advancing
solutions that help all people, and particularly people with lower incomes
or limited access to legal assistance, obtain the legal help and resources
they need to receive equal justice. This week we are joined by special guest co-host from the Acess to Justice Committee, Roy Ginsburg.
In 2020, the pandemic and racial inequities created new challenges in the
civil legal system. We’ll talk about the legal needs of Black, Indigenous and
People of Color, small businesses impacted by the uprisings in the Twin Cities
after George Floyd died, and people unable to afford a lawyer. Our guests will
share how their organizations have responded:
- Veena Iyer, Exective Director of the Immigrant Law Center of
Minnesota
- Kwame Osafo-Addo, Manager of the Entrepreneurs of Color Program at Legal
Corps
- J. Singleton, Program Manager at Legal Services State Support
- Dori Streit, Executive Director at Legal Aid Service of Northeastern
Minnesota
Join us this week to learn about recent updates, ongoing projects, and more
from the MSBA Access to Justice Committee.
